Preventive Dentistry

Prevention is the best defense against tooth decay and dental disease. Regular checkups and cleanings with our caring team of dental professionals are the best way to protect your oral health and enjoy healthy teeth that last a lifetime.

Regular Dental Exams

We are happy to work with you to schedule exams in our Corpus Christi, TX dental office at a time that is convenient for you. Our team will work around your schedule to arrange appointments so that you and your family can all have your exams done at the same time.

You can feel good about keeping a schedule of routine exams twice a year because you’ll know that your family’s teeth are healthy. These exams allow us to take a close look at your teeth, note any changes, and make sure that no problems have developed since your last checkup. X-rays let us see if there are any changes to your teeth that wouldn’t show up with a visual exam.

During this exam, we will listen carefully to your concerns and answer any questions you have. We work with you to create a treatment plan that fits your schedule and budget and prevents serious problems from developing.

Dr. Williamson is very compassionate and understands the special needs of young children. We take time to make them feel completely comfortable in our friendly office environment. In fact, getting your kids used to going to the dentist is the best way to get them started on a lifetime of great oral health practices.

Professional Dental Cleanings

Practicing proper oral hygiene is the best way to protect your teeth. Our dental hygienists will take the time to show you and your children how to brush properly. But no matter how well you brush, you simply can’t reach all the spaces between your teeth with your toothbrush. This can only be done by our hygienists using special dental tools that gently clean away plaque.

Periodontal disease (or gum disease) is a very serious problem and can develop without any symptoms. Stopping gum disease is very important because we now know that it may also lead to serious health problems like heart disease, respiratory disease, and stroke. Regular professional cleanings keep us one step ahead of periodontal disease to make sure it doesn’t become a serious health threat.

Preventive Treatments

Regular dental exams and professional cleanings are important, but preventive care doesn’t stop there. Fluoride is an important mineral that protects teeth from decay. If your family is not getting enough fluoride through water and other sources, we will provide treatments and rinses to make sure your teeth are properly protected. We can also provide dental sealants as necessary. Sealants are very effective in protecting children’s teeth from cavities and also work well for adults in certain cases.

If you’ve been putting off regular checkups and cleanings, please contact our office to make an appointment. Our friendly professional team is standing by to help you achieve the perfectly healthy smile you and your family deserve.
